Step 1. Introduce yourself.
Example 1. Job interview: your prospective employer states that they “want someone who is hard-working, with an eye for detail and is able to work without supervision.” Your answer: “Well, I believe I’m a good match for you. For example, I was able to process over 500 reports per day in my last position so you know I am hard-working. Because the accuracy of the information was critical to troop movements, I have a proven eye for detail. My boss was deployed a great deal, and left his instructions on my telephone voicemail. Consequently, I worked without supervision most of the time.”
Example 2. College/University Entrance Interview: The interviewer states that most people that enter the Masters of Business Administration Program have one of two goals in mind, “they either want to own their own business or work for a large multinational corporation.” Your answer: “I have a desire to own my own business, and first hone my skills working with a multi-national corporation. I believe that my military experience will be an asset to my success helping me to complete the degree program because”…. Or, “I believe my military experience will be an asset to the college/university because…”
Example 3. Selling a product or service: The prospect states that: “I really want to feel better fast.” Your answer: “I can help you feel better fast.”
